THE BLACK RABBIT IS SHOWING SELECTED WORKS AT THE PHOTOBASTEI - ZURICH'S BIGGEST PHOTOGRAPHY ART WALK - March 20-30, 2014
The Photobastei, Zurich's unique gallery space, is hosting the Zuger photographic team black rabbit photography ("the black rabbit") and its conceptual work. Starting with a vernissage on Thursday, March 20th, 2014, the black rabbit will show selected works from its series "Facies sine nomine audivit" until March 30th, 2014. Translated from Latin as "faces without names", this ongoing series explores identity and anonymity, traits seemingly at the opposite ends of the spectrum. However, both are necessary, can evolve and even be recreated. By hiding the faces and/or revealing multiple layers of its subjects, this series aims to reconcile both anonymity and (multiple) identity. The imagery is artfully rendered, often within a square format, to create a sense of "otherworldliness" as a conduit to explore identity and anonymity.
E of the black rabbit says:
"This exhibition is the first time our series has been shown in one place, in large prints. We are thrilled to participate and display our works at the Photobastei alongside other exciting Swiss photographers."
The Photobastei is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from noon to 9pm. The black rabbit will be showing its work on the fifth floor overlooking the city of Zurich and entrance is free. The selected works will be on sale and also be available as luxe postcards in sets of three.
